In this day and age, we see a massive cluster in the media discussion about the United States Constitution. There is very little real information out there and a great many opinion pieces put forth by all sides. It’s hard to know who, if anyone, is right- but its even harder if you don’t know if you don’t know the document well yourself.
For myself, I believe (and was taught in school) that it is my responsibility as a citizen to understand how the government works and to be informed about issues. I won’t go into how to find good sources as that will take up a whole post by on its own, but I did want to share this:
I think there is a myth out there that the Constitution is this giant impossible tomb that only professors can tackle. Well it’s not, and you should get this pocket Constitution and read it when you can. Bathroom? Educate yourself! Waiting for the dog to pee? Read our founding document! On the bus or train? Learn about the many amendments that have changed our Constitution over time.
God Bless America!
